Your Q3 Professional Development, On the House
Happy Wednesday!
Mid years are coming up at a lot of companies so I thought I’d look for some useful resources for people I work with. Connie Malamed updated her 100 hand picked freebies for learning designers. Amazing list. There are resources for junior developers, senior designers and even learning managers who have to deal with selecting LMS and managing production.
A Guide to Conducting a Training Needs Analysis [Free Template]
A critical skill for Sr L&D professionals and managers is to be able to conduct a training needs analysis that is comprehensive and over large groups of people. Frequently junior learning professionals don’t get exposed to this much or if they do, it’s not formally taught. I thought this template and article did a great job of giving not just the tasks but the philosophies you might need to employ to get this done. There are certainly other ways of doing it but I thought this would be a good start for some folks.
I stumbled on this recently google searching for something else but it’s just resources from various talks put on by The Learning Guild. It has microlearning, using PowerBI to create dashboards, making pitch decks and much more. Kind of a gold mine really.
TedEd made this delightful video testing to see how much you know about the Roman Empire. I did pretty well but I also learned a thing. How did you do?
