You can’t force anyone to learn. The best you can do is put them in the best conditions for learning to happen. One of my old coworkers in The Google School for Leaders, Maya has really taken that to its logical conclusion by curating what you hear, smell and even taste in their learning environment.

The three fs, fun fear and focus. This is a short hand for how to make a state of flow more likely to happen. This is important for learning because sometimes we do too much or too little of any of these three things and it leads to unhelpful learning experiences. These are good things to think about when creating a learning environment.
Scalable Immersive Learning Strategies with Phoenix Cavalier
Everything has been about AI lately but a couple years ago XR was the big thing. One of the big objections to XR is its scalability. Most people don’t have XR yet. In this podcast they argue that scalable means that you have to put in the work to make sure it works before you scale it. Don't do XR (or any other tech for that matter) just because it's cool.
This article argues that most people in the Star Wars universe are illiterate. There are counter arguments to be made but it’s interesting to think about an environment where most things are available to you through droid or media because we seem to be heading in that direction. Aside from knowledge, how do you preserve skills, tradition and even current events like the Jedi being a force for good in the galaxy!

This book is targeted at the learner but for those of us in L&D it can be helpful to understand the cognitive science behind learning and study habits. We often work with SMEs to generate new content or facilitate content we’re not an expert in. Either way, we need to become credible experts fast. Understanding how your learners best learn will also help you better space your content and interleave it to maximize learning potential.
