Social learning: Bridging Formal & Informal

If you've ever tried to set up social learning or a community of practice you know it has a high failure rate. Some of the suggestions in this podcast are around keeping positivity in the center of the community, providing value and most importantly centering around a cause.
Social learning bridges the gap between merely knowing something to behavior changes. This article has a few great infographics that illustrate the variety of social learning tactics from user generated content to classic peer to peer interaction.
Forgive me the occasional academic article. I thought the framing of this was interesting. Bridging formal and informal learning environments requires more of a systems thinking mindset rather than a linear publishing mindset. Thinking about the social environment of learners is just as important as the content itself.
